The designer worked this scarf twice. The first time she worked the hat by itself in simple half double crochet, and she added the squiggles (lamb's tails) later. The second time, she worked the squiggles as tails as she went. Either way, the combination of the vibrant colors of the yarn with the jaunty curling tails makes a great hat.
