Combine metal work and found objects together in this mixed media necklace design combines metal work with found objects perfectly. Create your own custom resin disks and pair them with custom created chain and found object shapes that are easily modified to reflect your personal style.

Required Materials:

  • Sterling silver, 22-gauge
  • Assorted diameter brass rings/bezels
  • Assorted thin wall brass tubing
  • Assorted paper or fabric
  • Assorted gauge brass jump rings, or 14-gauge brass wire
  • Brass steampunk parts, new or vintage
  • 26-gauge patterned sheet brass
  • Vintage beads if desired
  • Brass commercial chain
  • Handmade or purchase necklace clasp
  • Clear sealant or fabric stiffener or Elmer’s glue
  • 2-part resin
  • Wax paper and sheet of
  • cardboard
  • Paper towels

Technique:  Metalsmithing

Tools: Jeweler's saw, hand file, needle file, bezel pusher, burnisher, bezel scissors, wire snips, center punch, flex shaft or dremel, small drill bit, soldering torch setup, finishing film, oxidizer of your choice, green patina, green scrubbie
