For this chic shawl, the designer has come up with the unusual idea of stacking three reverse stockinette-stitch rectangles, each worked in a different yarn: a silk ribbon, a cotton-acrylic tubular ribbon, and a cotton-linen-rayon slub yarn. The rectangles are layered, with the largest on the bottom and the smallest on top, and are held together with a crochet cord threaded through eyelets in all three layers. A whimsical knitted flower provides the final closure.
