This scarf provides the challenge of keeping track of both color progression and stitch pattern—and keeping them in sync. The diagonals of the color progressions are enhanced by a lace pattern that is sweet and cerebral in its mathematical progression.

Yarn: Sportweight (Fine #2). Shown here: Blue Moon Fiber Arts BFL Sport (100% Bluefaced Leicester; 661 yd [604 m]/8 oz [226 g]); gertrude skein, 1 skein.
Yarn Weight: #2 - Fine
Needles: U.S. size 3 (3.25 mm): 16" to 32" (40 to 80 cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the desired gauge for the color repeat.
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge: About 25½ stitches and 32 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Diamond Lace patt. The correct gauge is determined by the color effect (see Notes).
