These fully lined Fair Isle mittens are worked in the round in an allover two-color tapestry pattern. A smooth merino lining keeps hands extra warm. I-cord cast-ons, charted thumbs, and multiple sizes make this a special pattern.

Nice result, error in pattern. Review by Kathy

I bought the magazine when it came out just for this pattern. I finally got around to knitting these cosy mitts over four days of holiday travel driving.

The pattern is generally clear and easy to read. The stranded pattern is nice, and the chart is clear. I recommend using a chart keeper of some sort, as the pattern repeat is a fair number of rows, some which start in a similar way.

There is an error in the pattern, which I have not seen any mentn of on the interweave site, or Ravelry. For the inner mitten, it takes you to the point where you should be making the thumbhole, then skips to after the thumbhole.

Easy fix, I just cast off the centre 13 stitches if the thumb marked on the chart, then cast the stitches back on in the next round.

I expect better editing, but overall the pattern was good.
