For fabric collage process:
- Aleene’s® Fabric Stiffener & Draping Liquid
- Cotton fabrics (hand dyed, for background and backing and small pieces for collaged areas)
- Black tulle (small amount)
- Threads of various kinds (I use Superior Threads™, Sulky®, and American & Efird’s Signature® threads.)
- Sewing machine with darning foot or free-motion foot (I use a Janome® 6500 sewing machine and a titanium-coated topstitch needle #100/16 by Superior Threads.)
- Iron and pressing cloth (I use a Steamfast™ Professional Fabric Steam Press.)
- Small jars, foam, glasses, etc., to use as shaping props (Use your imagination!)
Optional
- Needle-felting machine (I use a Janome FM-725.)
For digital printing process:
- Computer with Adobe® Photoshop® Elements or similar program
- Scanner or digital camera
- Fabric for use in an inkjet printer (I use Crafter’s Images PhotoFabric™ in cotton poplin from Blumenthal® Craft.)
- Hand-dyed or mottled fabric for backing
- Threads of various kinds (I use Superior Threads™, Sulky®, and American & Efird’s Signature® threads.)
