Looking for the perfect way to use scraps of your favorite batiks or other ethnic fabrics? Try this ottoman, made with 10" long fabric strips in a variety of widths. It’s filled with pellets and finished with tassels for a global chic look.

Details

Finished Size: 16" high × 20" diameter (40.5 × 51 cm)   

Fabric Requirements:

— ¾ yd (68.5 cm) of batik fabric for center top and bottom (shown: red for top and bluebrown for bottom)

— 30 scraps of assorted batik fabrics for ottoman sides, each at least 3½–6½" wide × 10" long (9–16.5 × 25.5 cm)

— 16 scraps of assorted batik fabrics for top border, at least 6½" wide × 7" long (16.5 × 18 cm)

— 258" × 68" (6.8 × 172.5 cm) bias strip of batik fabric to cover piping (sew together strips to obtain this length as necessary)

— 1¼ yd (1.1 m) of 90" (228.5 cm) wide muslin
