In search of a spider motif, Claire Ellen derived this subtle, mysterious, and slightly creepy motif from a larger overall floral stitch pattern. Uloborus spiders lack venom and produce a fuzzy type of silk.

Finished Size: 5½ (6½, 7¼)" (14 [16.5, 18.5] cm) foot circumference and 7 (7½, 8½)" (18 [19, 21.5] cm) long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable. Socks shown measure 7¼" (18.5 cm).

Yarn: Abstract Fiber Mighty Sock (50% Merino, 50% Tencel; 382 yd [349 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): little black dress, 1 skein.

Needles: U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm): set of doublepointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.

Gauge: 36 sts and 48 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in St st.
