Koch is a talented watercolor artist. Her abilities might be a bit intimidating to the budding artist, but the watercolor sketches really add a lot to the finished examples in which she includes them. Plus, in the book she teaches a “scumbling” technique for painting backgrounds and edging the pages of journals that helps integrate the collage with the page. Otherwise, technique is scant. The book includes seven pages of copyright-free clip art, resources, and an area to keep notes.
