My 2014 Goal:

In 2014, I'm exploring the relationships between pattern and color. Here's an undulating twill that I'm weaving with a handspun yarn that has slow color changes. (You could do the same thing with something like a Mini Mochi sock yarn.)

Next, I plan to try houndstooth patterns with Kauni, another yarn with long color segments.

My 2014 Goal:

2014 is the year I’m going to go beyond 4-shaft twills. As much as I love 4-shaft twills (and I do love them dearly) I’m ready to open my copy of Carol Strickler’s The Weaver’s Book of 8-Shaft Patterns and play with shadow weave, pinwheels, and laces of all varieties. (And, if I’m honest, I’ll probably weave up plenty of 8-shaft twills as well.) I’m thinking my forays into 8-shaft weaving will lead a nice new set of kitchen towels and napkins.

Here's a picture of my first foray into 8-shaft weaving, a snowflake twill for a warm winter scarf.
