—1⁄2 yd (46 cm) of 45" (115 cm) wide cotton in cream or white for binding and piecing
—1 1⁄8 yd (1 m) of 45" (115 cm) wide coordinating fabric for backing
—25 to 30 assorted, primarily solid color, cotton and linen scraps, each large enough for cutting 1 or 2 squares 3" (7.5 cm) or larger
—25 to 30 assorted, primarily solid color, cotton or linen strips, each measuring at least 1 1⁄2" (3.8 cm) wide and long enough to cut 2 or 4 strips up to 4 1⁄2" (11.4 cm) long
