The Wink Scarf is worked horizontally over many stitches and few rows and makes great practice for double knitting. Kristin Omdahl invented the fringe technique, which is worked all in one row.

Finished Size: About 2 3⁄4" wide and 71" long, including 3" edging at each end. 
Yarn: Fingering weight. Yarn shown contains 80% merino, 10% cashmere, 10% silk; 165 yd [151 m]/50 g (MC), 1 skein. Fingering-weight beaded yarn. Yarn shown contains 80% merino, 10% cashmere, 10% silk; 168 yd [154 m]/80 g (CC), 1 skein. 
Yarn Weight: #3 - Light
Needles: Sizes 3 (3.25 mm) and 6 (4 mm): 32" circular (cir) needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. 
Notions: Tapestry needle. 
Gauge: 13 sts and 32 rows = 4" in St st on larger needles.
